FAQ
01The Basics
What exactly is Craps@Home?
Craps@Home is a craps tracker on another level bringing something new and entertaining to your home games. You call the rolls — by voice or by tapping — and the app keeps score. It tracks points, hot numbers, shooter stats, streaks, and a whole lot more, so you can focus on the dice and let us do the math. You roll your real dice at your own table — the app just keeps track.
Is this a gambling app? Can I bet real money through it?
Nope. Craps@Home is not a gambling app — no wagers, no betting, and no real money is ever risked or won through the app. It records what happens at your table, including side-bet outcomes like Fire Bet and All-Tall-Small in Pit Pass, but it never places a bet. What happens at the table stays between you and your crew.
Is it free?
Yes — the core app is completely free. You get voice entry, up to 4 players, the leaderboard, the Jukebox, Rollbreaker, and more. Pit Pass ($4.99/mo) unlocks PRO features like PRO Sight advanced analytics, Cloud Sync, expanded rosters, exclusive avatars, and more.
Do I need to create an account?
No account, no login, no email required to use the free app. Your game data — players, rolls, stats, photos — stays on your device. If you subscribe to Pit Pass, Stripe collects your email for billing — that's it.
02Voice Recognition
How should I call rolls for best results?
Call the roll the way you would at a table. Say the total — "Five," "Nine," "Yo eleven" — or call the dice, like "two three" or "four one," and the app will understand. The total on its own is the cleanest and fastest. Say it right after the dice land and keep the call short.
Which browsers support voice?
Chrome and Edge on desktop work best. Safari on iPhone and iPad also works well. Android phones use built-in recognition that runs on the device. If voice isn't available where you are, Manual Entry always works.
The app isn't hearing me. What do I do?
A few things to check: make sure you've granted microphone permission (look for the mic or lock icon in your browser address bar), check that the mic indicator is active and your phone's volume isn't muted or on silent, and try speaking clearly right after the dice land. Sometimes you're having too much fun with your crew and it's just better to be in manual mode. Let the avatars do the voice calls for you.
What can I say to log a roll?
The app understands standard craps table talk. Numbers ("four," "nine," "eleven," "hard eight"), plus nicknames like snake eyes, yo, boxcars, midnight, little Joe, ace deuce, fever five, and more.
03Getting Started
How do I start a game?
Open the app, add at least one player on the setup screen, and tap Let's Roll. That's it. You can load players from your saved Leaderboard or type in new names on the spot.
How do I log a roll?
Two ways: just say the number out loud (e.g. "nine," "yo," "snake eyes") and the app will catch it, or tap Manual Entry from the sidecar and tap the number on the grid. Voice is faster once you get the hang of it.
How do I end a session / start fresh?
Tap End Game and confirm. This ends the current session: rolls, shooter rotation, point, and session stats are cleared, while your player list and Leaderboard career stats stay intact. Then you're back at setup, ready for the next game.
What does the app actually track?
Quite a bit. Per session it tracks roll counts, the point, hot/cold numbers, pass/don't-pass outcomes, and a full roll history. Per shooter it builds career stats on the Leaderboard over time — total rolls, points made, turns, and more.
Can I put the game on a TV?
Yes. On your TV or tablet, open craps-at-home.com/tv. It shows a 5-character room code. On your phone, tap Link to Display (on the setup screen, or the TV icon during a game), type in the code, and tap Connect. The big screen then mirrors the table while your phone stays your controller.
04Players & Photos
How do I add details on dice sets?
Treat a dice set as a player. Give it a name like "3V" and then use the photo option to capture a picture of your dice set.
How do photos work?
Tap the camera icon next to a player's name on the setup screen to snap a photo. The app uses your device's camera and stores the photo only on your device.
What is the Leaderboard?
The Leaderboard is your all-time hall of fame. Every session, shooter stats get saved and rolled into career records — longest hand, most points made, total rolls, and more. You can load Leaderboard players right onto the roster for your next session so you never have to retype names.
How do I delete players from the Leaderboard?
Open the Leaderboard, tap Edit, and pick the profiles you want to delete. Deleted records are gone for good unless you have a Cloud Sync backup (Pit Pass feature).
How many players can I have?
Up to 4 players in the free app, and up to 10 with Pit Pass.
05Gameplay & Stats
What are the sidecars?
Sidecars are the extra panels on the right side of the screen in landscape mode. Pick one from the dropdown:
- Manual Entry — a tap grid (2–12, plus a Hardway control) for logging rolls by hand.
- Jukebox — background music for your table.
- Dealer Ref — shows the take/pay reference for the number just rolled.
- Hot Numbers — a hot-and-cold view of the numbers against the odds.
- Rollbreaker — plays random "jinx" audio clips to throw off the shooter.
- Lineup (Pit Pass) — each player's recent turns, viewable as rolls or SRR.
- Heater Meter (Pit Pass) — a gauge of how hot the table is, based on recent hand lengths.
What is PRO Sight?
PRO Sight (Pit Pass) is the deep analytics dashboard for serious dice influencers. Dive into any player's profile and get:
- SRR (Seven-to-Rolls Ratio), bet edge, and number distribution (the Dice Signature)
- Line-bet and hardways analysis, plus survival curves and chi-squared significance
- Strategy and consistency readouts, and a compare mode between players
- Scouting reports, with commentary you can export as a PDF
- Simulate — build a roll stream that mirrors a player's real shooting profile and load it into the strategy simulator of your choice
All of it shows you whether your sets are actually working.
Can I export my session data?
Yes, with Pit Pass. Tap Export CSV on the scoreboard for the full session roll history. In PRO Sight you can also export scouting reports (PDF) and simulated roll streams matched to a player's profile.
06Pit Pass & PRO
What is Pit Pass?
Pit Pass is the monthly supporter subscription at $4.99/month. It unlocks PRO features including PRO Sight analytics, Heater Meter, Lineup, session CSV export, Cloud Sync, up to 10 players, exclusive PRO avatars, and more. It's also how you support continued development of the app.
How do I activate Pit Pass after subscribing?
After subscribing through Stripe you'll receive a Pit Pass key by email. Open the app, go to Settings, find the Pit Pass section, paste your key, and tap Activate. PRO features unlock immediately on that device.
I subscribed on my phone. Can I use Pit Pass on my tablet too?
Yes — just paste your Pit Pass key into Settings on any device you want to activate. The key isn't locked to a single device.
What is Cloud Sync?
Cloud Sync (Pit Pass) backs up your Leaderboard and session log to our servers and merges it back to your device on demand. If you clear your browser data, get a new phone, or play on multiple devices, Cloud Sync keeps everything in one place. Tap Sync in Settings to run it manually.
How do I cancel Pit Pass?
Go to Settings → Manage Pit Pass to open the Stripe customer portal, or email us at contact.crapsathome@niventure-group.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then. See our Terms for details.
Can I get a refund?
Pit Pass payments are non-refundable. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of your billing period. If something went wrong, such as a billing error, email us at contact.crapsathome@niventure-group.com. See our Terms for details.
What are avatars and how do I get more of them?
Avatars are the virtual stick men (and women) that make the game fun. Some avatars are free, some are unlocked with Pit Pass, and some are unlockable with a special code. Keep an eye on announcements for new drops.
Can I commission a custom avatar?
If you're seriously interested, drop us a line at contact.crapsathome@niventure-group.com.
07Your Data
Where is my data stored?
Everything — player names, photos, leaderboard records, session history, settings — lives in your browser's local storage on your device. We don't have a copy unless you're a Pit Pass subscriber with Cloud Sync enabled.
I cleared my browser data and lost everything. Can you restore it?
Unfortunately no — if Cloud Sync wasn't active, there's no server-side copy for us to restore from. This is one of the main reasons Pit Pass includes Cloud Sync. Going forward, enabling it means your stats are safe even if you wipe your device.
Do you sell my data?
Never. We don't sell your data. Payments are handled by Stripe, and the app is hosted on Cloudflare. For the full list of service providers, see our Privacy Policy.
08Installing the App
Is there an app in the App Store or Google Play?
Not currently — Craps@Home is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you install it straight from your browser. No app store, no approval process, no waiting. Updates roll out instantly.
How do I install it on my iPhone or iPad?
Open app.craps-at-home.com in Safari, tap the Share button (the box with an arrow), and choose Add to Home Screen. It'll live on your home screen just like a native app.
How do I install it on Android?
Open the site in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Add to Home Screen or Install App. Some Android versions show a banner at the bottom of the screen automatically.
Can I use it on a laptop or desktop?
Yes. Open app.craps-at-home.com in Chrome or Edge. You can also install it from the install icon in the address bar, but it isn't required.
Does it work offline?
Craps@Home needs an internet connection. Voice recognition, music, and the TV link all use it. Your game data is saved on your device between sessions.
09Troubleshooting
The app looks broken / isn't loading correctly.
Try a hard refresh first: Ctrl+Shift+R on desktop (or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac), or close and reopen the app on mobile. If that doesn't fix it, clearing your browser cache and reloading usually does the trick. If you're still stuck, email us.
My Pit Pass key isn't activating.
Make sure you're pasting the full key exactly as it arrived in your email — no extra spaces. Also check that your subscription went through in Stripe (you should have a receipt email). If the key still won't activate, email us at contact.crapsathome@niventure-group.com and we'll sort it out.
The Jukebox isn't playing anything.
The Jukebox streams music from our servers, so it needs an internet connection. Also check that your device isn't on silent and that you've interacted with the app first — browsers require a user tap before allowing audio to play.
Something weird is happening and none of this helped.
We want to know about it. Email contact.crapsathome@niventure-group.com with a description of what's happening, what device and browser you're on, and we'll get on it.
